Public Policy & Advocacy

Our Competition group works diligently to stay at the forefront of competition law and policy developments both in Canada and internationally. Our lawyers write and speak extensively on policy issues and participate in public consultations and roundtables conducted by the Competition Bureau concerning its policies and guidelines, as well as government agencies with regard to matters affecting competition policy and foreign investment restrictions.

Our active involvement in matters of government and policy enables us to anticipate areas of concern to regulators and draw on the most recent policy developments when advocating on behalf of our clients. We also assist clients in making their own policy submissions with regard to proposed amendments or guidelines.

Members of our group hold leadership positions in the Canadian Bar Association's National Competition Law section and in the American Bar Association's Section of Antitrust Law and Section of International Law, as well as the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, a member organization of the Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD.
